How the Molds are Made

Translated from the German on the Änis Paradies Website

In our workshop we have developed a special process to produce high-fidelity molds that are easy to use in baking and crafts. From the original wooden mold, we take a silicone-based imprint. This work requires an extremely careful handling of the original molds, because these unique pieces are irreplaceable and can in no way be violated.

The silicone imprint is restored if necessary. To make restoration without altering the historical facts takes a lot of dexterity and expertise.

After the hand restoration of the first impression, a casting of this is made in silicone. Into this silicone form we pour our specially developed casting resin under vacuum. From this silicone form we can make about 10 molds. These molds are then tempered in the oven, and then ground on the back and rounded. A special patina is then applied to give the visual beauty wooden mold.

It is this harmonious interplay between traditional craftsmanship and contemporary technology that make our high quality molds.
