Description Technical Specs
Baselbieterstab in English means the Basel bishop's crozier. (A crozier is a staff with a curved top, representing a shepherd's staff. This is the symbol that a bishop is the shepherd of his diocese.)

Before the Reformation, Basel, Switzerland was the seat of a powerful bishop; therefore all flags, emblems, coats of arms and even weapons carried the design of the top of the Basel bishop's crozier. In modern times, the religious interpretation has vanished, but this symbol remains on the flags and coats of arms for the two half-cantons of Basel-City and Basel-Region.
Many of Ă„nis-Paradies' springerle mold customers live in the Basel region and love their coat of arms.

This Baselbieter-Stab springerle cookie mold is well detailed and produces an eating-size cookie that looks well on a cookie plate.

Springerle Cookie Cutter Tips: The cookie looks well with a plain round 46-51mm / 2.0" dia. cutter (singles: 16123, 16024, 11051). It also looks well with a cutter from our nested set of plain rounds (12112) or from our nested sets of subtle fluted rounds (12007, 12111).
Springerle Dough Thickness Tip: 8mm using our Dough Guides (10009).
