This mold dates from the 17th Century. Baker guilds or rich landowners would present its cookies to Thanksgiving guests. The whole process of the grain harvest is shown here. In the front of the picture, the grain is cut and the sheaves are ready to be driven by the farmer into town during the harvest. Many small details, like the squirrel on the tree or the people and animals inside the city walls, enrich the image of this mold.A typical wreath of the 17th Century outlines this mold.

The original wooden mold for our impression dates from the 17th Century, and is located in Swiss private collection.
