This darling reproduction mold is from an antique loaned to Änis-Paradies by a German customer so that copies could be made. We are indeed fortunate to be able to offer this mold to our customers.
The finished cookie has a rounded surface, reminding you of a real egg. You can see this best in the alternate photo with this listing that shows the actual cookie.
This cookie mold reproduction is made of a food-safe resin that is unbreakable and waterproof. It comes with metal eyelet hanger attached at the top for display on a wall. In addition to making cookies, you can make ornaments using this mold (we recommend non-toxic modeling materials such as Paperclay or Delight).
Recommended custom cutters: 17287 (fluted) and 17229 (smooth).
Recommended dough thickness: 10 mm using our Dough Thickness Guides.
Springerle Baking Tips: Dry this cookie for a minimum of 24 hours before baking. Bake one test cookie before attempting to bake multiple cookies at a time. Put the cookie sheet in the bottom rack of the oven. Bake low in a preheated oven (no more than 275 degrees F.) for about 30 minutes. Check your test cookie for doneness in the interior after it has cooled for 30 minutes. Then adjust the time as necessary and bake more cookies.
Butter Cookie Baking Tips: Chill the molded cookies in the refrigerator a minimum of 45 minutes to set up the images and then place immediately in your preheated oven and bake according to your recipe's directions. You may want to bake them a few minutes longer than normal due to the thickness of the molded egg shape.
